Supreme Court to rule on Trump bid to end ‘dreamers’ program

The fate of approximately 700,000 DACA Recipients or “Dreamers” will now be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, although a decision is not anticipated until 2020. In the Fall of 2017, President Trump ordered the end of the DACA (“Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals”) program which was created in 2012. However, since President Trump’s announcement, injunctions issued by Federal Courts have prevented DHS/USCIS from ending the program. As it stands the DHS/USCIS must accept and process properly filed DACA renewal applications.
